Last life painting class

This is the last painting I did in my life painting class at the GSA. Painted over 3 two hour sessions.

Below is a picture of an earlier version, taken after the first night. You can see that the pose was slightly different in the following two sittings.

  1. Dear D: how can someone sit so still and so naked for so long? Does he get tired before you do? There must be an easier way. Even though my body is beautiful could I do it? Take care Marc Marrs.

    • marc: Generally speaking, the model will sit for 20 – 30 minutes, then we’ll have a five minute break. Geoff was happy to sit for longer periods (up to 45 mins) on this occasion, as it was a reasonably comfortable pose. I wouldn’t fancy life-modelling myself, I have to say, although it’s all very business-like and not remotely judgemental. And there are heaters.
